Checklist of Dates for December 2024 Graduation
September 1
Deadline to submit application for December graduation. Application is available in OnePort. There is a $100 late application fee if not submitted by September 1
November 21
Cap & Gown Day for December Commencement (12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the Student Life Porch in Highsmith). This is a drop-in event at which you’ll pick-up your cap and gown (free of charge), purchase announcements and/or class rings, and verify name pronunciation.
December 2
Grade changes for Incomplete (I) grades from Spring and Summer are due from the faculty by 5 p.m. If this pertains to you, please remind your instructors to submit any required grade changes to the Registrar’s Office by the deadline. Be sure to submit your remaining work to the instructor in time for them to grade the assignments before the deadline.
December 13
Commencement -4 p.m.

December 16
Demonstration of Competency (Comps) results due to Registrar’s Office from department chairs. The Registrar’s Office will request this information from the departments.
December 17
Grades due for all students
If you are a prospective graduate and have not been receiving e-mails concerning graduation, please notify Alicia Shope, ashope@unca.edu. Reminders of the dates and deadlines presented here will be sent through email.
